Janice Sosnowski

Dr. Jan grew up in a very pet-centered family with dogs, cats, mice, and chameleons before becoming involved with horses. Education was important in her home along with community service. “So, what better way to combine all the core values that called to me than veterinary medicine. And what a ride it has been. Every day I wake up eager to go to work. Every day I learn something new and every day I try to make a difference in someone’s life.” Dr. Jan purchased the practice in 1986. She is a native of Annapolis. Her veterinary education includes graduating from the University of Georgia Veterinary School in 1980 followed by two years of post-graduate work at the University of Guelph in both medicine and surgery. Dr. Jan is the managing veterinarian for the practice and is a Certified Fear Free Professional. Dr. Jan purchased the practice in 1986. Under her direction and vision, the practice has grown from a small one doctor, two room facility for a busy compassionate veterinary practice in the heart of Dover. She has served as president of the DVMA, on the board of DAEC and has served as the Delaware representative to the AVMA House of Delegates. In 2009 Dr. Jan received the Kent County SPCA Animal Kindness Award and the 2009 H. Wesley Towers Veterinarian of the Year Award. Her husband, Scott Nichol, manages their farm with their horses, dogs, and cats. Dr. Jan’s hobbies include snow skiing, water sports and competing her three show hunters on the A circuit between NY and FL.
